In this performance the Ensemble NuSom will present artworks that are part of recent research projects developed by the group. After the performance they will make a short presentation about their work towards connecting academic research and artistic creation. NuSom is the Research Centre on Sonology.

The Institute of Advanced Studies of the University of São Paulo (IEA-USP) and the Institute for Advanced Research of the University of Nagoya (IAR) are leading a inter-institutional, interdisciplinary and global project: the Intercontinental Academia (ICA). An initiative of the UBIAS network, the ICA will bring together 15 young researchers from different nationalities and areas of knowledge to develop studies on "time." During two immersion meetings, one from April 17 to 29, 2015, in São Paulo, and another one in January and February, 2016, in Nagoya, the group will participate in conferences, workshops and debates. The proposal to create the Intercontinental Academia was brought up during the meeting of the Steering Committee of Ubias (University-Based Institutes for Advanced Studies - a network between national institutes of advanced studies of 34 universities around the world), held in March 2012 at the Institute for Advanced Study Jawaharlal Nehru, in New Delhi, India. The initial idea was of the then director of the IAS of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, Eliezer Rabinovici, who has visited the IEA-USP twice. The IEA-USP and the IAR (Institute for Advanced Research) of the University of Nagoya felt motivated by the insight of the Israeli scientist and decided to be behind the pilot project for this initiative, which operates as a joint venture.
